XY Controller Description
An XY Controller is an input device or software interface that allows users to control two parameters simultaneously using a two-dimensional plane. The horizontal axis (X) and vertical axis (Y) each correspond to a different parameter, such as pitch and modulation in music production, or pan and tilt in lighting systems. By moving a cursor, joystick, or touchpoint within the XY grid, users can intuitively blend or transition between values in real-time, making it especially useful in applications requiring dynamic, expressive control. XY Controllers are commonly found in synthesizers, MIDI controllers, DJ software, lighting consoles, and digital art tools.
